Fiestas
Various festivities are going on in Guatemala year-round. On almost every day of the year there is a fiesta in some town or village, no matter how small, somewhere in Guatemala, many of which are rooted in religious traditions. There is no fiesta, procession, or celebration without the bloody fireworks that blow your head away - Guatemalans are probably already resistent to the bang-bang-bang noise and think the louder the better! The highlight of all holidays in Guatemala is for sure Semana Santa with the most impressive celebrations taking place in La Antigua.
